found a cool shortcut or rather a narrow alley through kalu sarai. suddenly malvia nagar looks much closer now. also we found this tiny (?) food place (tarka) in kalu sarai, a good option for a lazy evening. the food is not spicy, at least the ones we ordered were almost home-cooked!
